Signs you've got ants.
Debris piles
Ants keep tidy nests—so you may notice piles of dead ants, crumbs, or other waste outside their hiding spots.
Dirt mounds
Small piles of dirt or sand near sidewalks, cracks, or in the yard. These are usually colony entrances.
Ant trails
Lines of ants moving across counters, windowsills, or baseboards. They follow invisible scent trails to food and water.
Food "guests"
Ants popping up in your pantry, on pet bowls, or around anything sweet/greasy left out.
Helpful tips.
1. Seal entry points
Check around doors, windows, and cracks. A little caulk or weather strip keeps ants where they belong—outside.
2. Clean regularly
Wipe up crumbs, spills, and sticky spots fast. Ants don’t hang around if there’s nothing to snack on.
3. Store food properly
Use sealed containers for pantry goods and pet food. Ants are great at finding open bags and boxes.
4. Keep garbage sealed
Make sure trash cans have tight lids, and take them out often. Ants love leftovers more than you do.
5. Fix water leaks
Ants need moisture too. Drips under sinks or leaky pipes make a perfect hangout for them.
6. Trim vegetation
Cut back shrubs, tree limbs, and plants that touch your house. Ants use them like their own highway indoors.
